Top Volunteers!
Melissa Beyette, Becky Smith and Candy Griffin (not shown) were recognized as the Top 3 Volunteers for the first half of the school year. They were each given candles donated by Candle with Care and a big "Thank You!" from PTA, Principal Fillbrandt and Teresa Hartman, Assistant Principal.

Request #1: RODEO ART SHOW HELP
Jan 7-8th (Wed/Thur) - Setup/ decorate for the Rodeo Art show - Please contact Marisa Botello with what day(s) & time(s) you will be available to help.
FOOD REQUEST - Jan. 8th (Thursday) by 3:00 p.m. Please contact Bonnie Jackson (281-381-4603 or bjackson@huffmanisd.net) if you can provide food for the Rodeo Art Judges. Need food items such as soup, chili, spaghetti, chicken and dumplings, dips, sweets, etc. Please contact Mrs. Jackson to confirm so we do not get many duplicate food items.
Request #2: Library Help: AR Folders ASAP
Amy Toler/Ben Bowen Librarian needs 3-5 volunteers to assemble First Grade AR Folders. 250 folders need to be cut to letter size, reading log & level sheet stapled inside. The AR Level sheets are copied bu t we will need copies made of the reading log. This should only take a couple of hours with the right amount of volunteers to assist. The schedule is flexible (any time, any day). All materials are ready and available in the library. This project needs to start as soon as possible. Amy's schedule is flexible so she will be able to give instructions. You can work in the library and then maybe the workroom to complete the project since the supplies & copy machine will be easily accessible. Request #3: Library Aide
Amy Toler/Ben Bowen Librarian is looking for a weekly volunteer. She hasn't had a Library Aide for a couple of years and would really like someone to come in for a few hours a week and possibly do a rotation schedule with other volunteers. No help will be turned down! Please contact Amy Toler at atoler@huffmanisd.net to discuss how you can help.
Request #4: Feb 2-6 - Book Fair & Morning with Mom Volunteers - Please contact Marisa Botello if you would like to be contacted to help for Book Fair and Morning with Mom.
Request #5: We are still looking for a few volunteers interested in helping out on Bank Day each week - Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. If you'd like to help, please contact Terri McCloskey, PTA Bank Day Representative directly at txmccloskey@yahoo.com and let her know your interest.
Ongoing requests:
Request #1: Copy/Classroom Material Prep Teams - Join this team of volunteers Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays to make copies and prepare a variety of classroom materials/projects for teachers. This allows our teachers to focus more on their students and class work! There is a short training session on the workroom equipment before you get started and no experience is necessary! Some of these projects can be done at your home! Send email if interested.
Request #2: Lots of Picture Takers!
You don't have to be a professional! We are looking for parents who like to take pictures at their child's events that would be willing to snap some extra's of other students, too, and provide a copy of the photos on disk to the PTA. Some of these will be used in the school yearbook at the end of the year. No long-term commitment, just let us know what event/activity you'll be covering. If you are interested, please email or call officer.
Request #3: Egg cartons! We need egg cartons for future class projects. Please send in to your classroom teachers.
Direct Donation
If you’re like many parents, your life is very busy. Between going to work or volunteering, taking your children to extra-curricular activities, caring for your home, and running errands, you’re probably already over-extended. Organizing and volunteering at PTA fundraisers is important to you, but you wonder if there might be a way to make better use of your time and get the same or better results for your PTA. Your tax-decutible donation to PTA will help maintain the many services PTA provides to our school community. WANTED: We need enthusiastic and dependable individuals. Enrich our school with your talents and capabilities! Any person who is concerned with the quality of education and wants to help children can be a volunteer. If you have some "spare" time, we have many opportunities.
Have any skills or talents that you could share? Do you enjoy photography, like to write, decorate, sew, cook, plan events, create? Have some extra time on your hands to come help teachers or children? We want to hear from you.
