Fruit & Veggie Fun Facts

Apples: About 2500 known varietis of apples are grown in the US. More than 7500 are grown worldwide.

Bananas: Bananas are the most popular fruit in America. Americans eat 33 pounds of bananas per person a year!

Grapes: Grapes are one of the oldest cultivated fruits, and more grapes are produced worldwide than any other fruit. It only takes 17 crisp, cold grapes o get one of your 5 a day servings!

Mangos: Mangos are the world's most popular fruit. The mango belongs to the same family as the cashew and pistachio.

Sweet Potato: Unlike yams, which contain no vitamin A, sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A. In fact, no other veggie contains more vitamin A than sweet potatoes do.

Tomato: Fruit or vegetable? Botanically, they are fruits, but the USDA says they are vegetables. Fruit or vegetable, you should love tomatoes for their cancer-fighting lycopene.
