Final Meeting Highlights....
Hard to believe the school year is coming to an end. With much gratitude, I say "Thanks!" to all the parents, grandparents and staff who have helped us throughout the year. Also, to the awesome parents and staff that served as PTA Board Members... it's been very rewarding getting to know you and I will miss "making a difference" with you. It's been fun. And, best wishes to the newly elected Board Members! I know you will do great!

BBECC PTA and Huffman ISD School Board Donate Over $3000 to PE Department
 At our last Regular meeting for the school year, Coach Bryant was presented with over $3000 for the BBECC PE department. Half of the funds comes from money raised by PTA during the 2008-09 school year. The other half comes from HISD School Board who will be matching those funds. Many students will benefit from (and enjoy) the new equipment being purchased for PE next school year! PTA appreciates and thanks our School Board for this donation to a great cause!
Principal Presented Special Award
"You Rock, JF!" is what the poster says. Mr. Fillbrandt was presented a framed poster picturing some of the fun ways he has provided great prizes for our students and also supported PTA. (Tape the Principal to the Wall event; Sink the Principal event; Jay the Juggler performance)
We appreciate how good of a sport he is and that he is a super (and fun) Principal.

Responsibilities of the Board
Chair positions are Board positions. Typically, Board Members have one to two meetings a month; an Executive Board Meeting and a Regular Member Meeting. The Board creates the budget and sets fundraising goals. PTA assists in the planning of special school events in conjunction with the Principal and staff. Throughout the school year, PTA plans events such as Book Fairs, Donuts with Dad, Morning with Mom, and provides volunteers for these and other school events. PTA provides financial support for grade level activities such as field trips and special performances.
